The BARC/BMMC Marshals Training was held over the weekend of 16th & 17th February. Jackie and I were there on the Sunday for Flag Marshals training, our future role starting this year.

The morning consisted of a series of talks over various aspects, and then a practical was set up in the afternoon, using the "loons" of the local kart circuit to enact various scenario's, and allow the participants to try each other's roles (observers / flaggies / course) as well as their own, to gain an understanding of how things can run, both successful and otherwise!!!!!

The Loons at play, and a group of marshals ready to assist them!

Marshals ever ready and on the job.

Accidents happen, and the challenge for the rescue crew was to extract a driver from an unfamiliar vehicle. Team work is essential, the rescue crew are there to work WITH the marshals, not to take over the scene.

De-briefing after each scenario helps to instill the purpose of the exercise

And just who's to blame for this shenanigans????? Click below to find out!!!!!

This way please!
